I’m so excited that fall is here! I love breaking out my boots, sweaters and scarves. The changing colors of the outdoors inspire me to update my routine.
Here are a few tips I’ve found that really help me rock an eye-catching glow…and how you can too!
Pick the Right Foundation
Because of the dry, cooler weather, I’ve been shifting all my powders to creams, especially my foundation. My dry skin needs a creamier, richer formula to get that extra glow during this season. Go for something a little heavier, but not so much that it clogs the pores.
I have also found that creamier foundations apply more smoothly and glide over any rough dry patches on my face. I use a lighter foundation in the fall because there is less freckling and sun damage to cover. I am loving the Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done – it’s a full coverage foundation that never looks overdone.
I still like to keep my bronze glow strong – but I favor the golds and champagnes during the fall (a favorite of mine is Champagne Pop by Becca Cosmetics.)
Trick Out Those Lips
I love a good coral or bright pink for summer – but now that fall is here I’m all for the darker hues. Change out your pinks for some deep reds and flattering plum wines… or simply swipe a darker gloss over your staple color to darken the look.
I’m currently loving the deep oxblood lip color right now. The earthy tone gives your look that added pop. If you have never experimented with a deep red lip color before, try Revlon Super Lustrous in Black Cherry. It’s inexpensive and long lasting.
Mix coconut oil, brown sugar, and a tiny bit of pumpkin spice together for a quick DIY lip scrub. Tastes better than Starbucks, and whoever gets to kiss you on the lips after you scrub is gonna be in for a realllll treat. – Brianna Soucy
Oh, Those Eyes!
While your summer peepers glittered and shimmered like the sun, it’s time now for some moodier shades. Gimme all the sultry colors for the fall! I’ve been loving Urban Decay’s Naked Heat palette. The velvet texture of these warm browns and rich Sienna colors is perfect for creating infinite looks this season.
Glitter is still everywhere right now, but you don’t actually want it EVERYWHERE. Just a hint on your eyelid, or the inner corner, on your lips or in your brows. Not all of the above – like they say, less is more.
Eye makeup colors inspired by the turning leaves. Rusts, burnt oranges, earthen Browns; applied with the concentrated color dissipating circularly as you pull away from the eye, like the way food color dissipates in water when dispersed with a dropper. – Ashley Walsh
Don’t Forget to Switch up Your Skincare Routine Too!
Fall means exfoliation and cleaning out the beauty bags. Ditch some of the bronzer to lighten and brighten the look. Skin care becomes very important and bringing emollient based products can help protect the skin. – Kat Jensen
And let’s not forget, even though the skies are overcast – SPF is still a must! My favorite sunscreen is a broad-spectrum one by …it goes on smoothly and has no scent!
I have found that by following these simple tips, I look and feel my best as the holidays approach!
