Rest, relax, recharge… and reflect. That’s what Sundays are all about.
Leaving behind the negative self-talk, the things that are holding you back, and looking forward to a new week, a new opportunity to go for what you want. Anxiety creeps in when things start piling up – so having a set plan for myself keeps my head (and desk, maybe even my inbox) clear and functioning at its best.
“Plan your work, work your plan.” This is the daily mantra I started telling myself when I worked in sales for 15 years. It helped me remember to focus on the tasks for the day and week. I use Sundays as a time to sit down and make my plan for the upcoming week. Excited to share my Sunday secret to a successful week.
Three Easy Tips to Stay Organized
1. Find the right tool: get a planner that is user-friendly for you. I use the combination of a paper calendar for long-term goals and google calendar for daily tasks and appointments. I love my personalized planner from Erin Condren to make my daily to-do lists. It allows me to avoid the mental drain of trying to keep track of all the things I need to remember for the day. If you write it down nothing slips through the cracks.
2. Prioritize! I list my tasks in order of importance for the day, week and even the year.
3. While working on your daily list, set a timer for each task, and check things off your list as you go throughout your day! This gives you a feeling of accomplishment and keeps you on track.
I have found this especially helpful for managing social media. I can hop on Instagram and the next thing I know – an entire hour has gone by! I have a specific time each day that I engage with my platforms, and I give myself a time limit. This keeps me focused!
